Andrew Tanser   Curriculum Vitae


Trained initially as an architectural stone and wood carver, Andrew went on at 21 to study as an industrial designer and work in London.

Since 1993 Andrew has been producing his own work, selling work for example at the Royal Academy 1996 summer show, undertaken a wide variety of commissions, workshops and Public Art projects.

        Bury St Edmunds, Carving for the new tower, running and supervising 8 carvers
      • Running carving jobs / people, pricing, cash flow, spreadsheets, marketing, organising shows hitting deadlines / prices, liaising with architects structural engineers surveyors etc. designing / recreating ornament, setting out etc.
      • Design manufacture and installation of a wide variety of projects requiring research and development from fireplace surrounds in stone wood & marble to garden ornament / water features in marble, slate, glass, and stainless steel to contemporary benches
        • 1994
          One of five setting up Cambridge Artworks, Co-Op run Artists studios in Cambridge (still running) for 20 plus artists. Business plans, cash-flow forecasts, Lease negotiations, grant applications etc.
